Estuaries and Coastal

The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study process needs to address many aspects of the estuary or coastal system performance, from “typical” to “extreme” conditions.

One essential study in such a dynamic environment focuses on the response of mobile sediments to the introduction of engineering structures.  The effects of the structures and their temporary-works (those temporary constructions used to assist in the installation of the main structure) need to be assessed.

CFD can provide a useful method for options testing for various proposal scenarios which will cause the minimum impact on the local marine environment.
